Swimming, and dumpster diving
We will have our first YSA activity which is a meeting about what activities they want. Today our frig, stove, and washing machine came and you can fit the stove and the washing maching in the frig, but we couldnt get the frig in the kitchen with out taking the doors off, It was great fun for Jim and is still not all put back together yet. This weekend is another baptism and stake conference, I sure hope they have ear phones for us or it is going to be a long meeting. I still need ideas of games that dont require language IF YOU HAVE ANY IDEAS. we have 3>5 languages going on a night. Today after trying out our new washing machine, we went swimming, It is a beautiful place with a view of the Jura mts which we can see often from our places (we are going back and forth between the two places as we continue to try a get our own place fixed up) Look up aon a map of th world and you xan easily see that the Jura run down France just on the west side of Geneva. Anywayd when you all come to visit you will see. So we go swimming, into the lobby, with our suits on so that we dont have any problems reading the French, like we did before, but this time as I was changing ever so quickly because everyone changes in the common area, I suddenly hear English, oh it sounded so good, so of course I listened and almost said something, But, I stepped out of my little private area and noticed that the two male voices \i heard were changing right next to me in the very small private area that \i had only there were two males in the tiny little area, whoa, I GOT OUT OF THERE QUICKLY,but then I thought, hum, I wonder who they are. Well, they were ugly old guys,(they probably thought the same about me) And I never did say anything, in English or French. So we get back from swiming and the laundry looks great, now Jim does his, (it is so smalll that I can only do one weeks worth of way garments on one load), Well, we have a problem which we couldnt figure out because we had to get here. As we get closer to completing our apt. we think we will be in by Dec 1, for sure> We have been Dumpster Diving, as it is encouraged here as there is a big recycle, no waste, thing goin on. So, what is everyone doing for Thanksgiving, Right now \I am cooking 2 kilos of carrots and today I made my first attempt at corn bread on our new oven, NOT good, I think I and I got 26, GOAL=== I need at least 5-10 more by Christmas. We had great success with our humaintairn project to Botzwana, all t he stuff flew off Monday to 4020 school children. Love toyou all, PLease let us know all about your thanks giving, Share the fun, LOVE and THANKSGIVING
FHE on tuesday nights
Last night we had a great FHE, We had one young man from Africa (an Island near Madagascar) can in off the street and ask if he could pray here. So w told him to come back for class and dinner, He came back and before FHE we gave him a lesson on prayer, then he satayed for the lesson given by one Monoglian sister Zaya (her first time ) and Degi, her sister, after we prepared the humanitarin packets, also there were Joe just baptized on Sunday from Africa, Suzanna going to MTC in one week headed to Bulgaria, Garieth, just returned form Spain on mission and ELDERS. It was great and we felt the spirit. I made apple sause which they are loving, rice and veggies and little sandwiches, They always want food. Anyways,I got the bear my testimony to the investigator. Love to all, its beginning to look like CHRISTMAS here.

The big celebration for stake confernce is this weekend and it is the 160 year reunion of the first missionaries so they are making a big deal. The choir has got to be the European MTC. The leader is amazing. Our volunteering to sing was because we thought they needed us. NOT, But now that we go, we are learning so much , even in french, That,s all for now,, I am making dinner for the Institute and then we are putting together the humanitarinian packets

Sunday, after a meeting that I totaly understood I cooked white fish with cous cous from a recipe I read in french when Jim was at the doctor, I also made corn bread and cookies, with no recipe (memorize your recipes in case you need up like me with no internet on the weekends). After eating we went outside for a walk and noticed some men around an electricians box , so \i told them in french that Jim was an engeniere and maybe he could help. Well next thing you know we are in her apt eating tarts adn visiting for one hour all in french and now , tomorrow we are going for a marche (walk in the park) It was quiet fun and now a have a french friend about my age and not with the church

Geneva Switzerland Stake
Our church is the English ward, luckly, But in the evening we had a Mission Home meeting with new members in french and spanish, so I had to again introduce myself and mon mari entirely in french. Saturday night there was a halloween party, all American, and there I met the President of Moscow Mission who had to come here to get hIs visa renewed. His name is Ken Woolley and he is my second cousin, his grandfather and grandma Celia are brother and sister through polygamy. He knew Celia and all about Hyrum Woolley, who was a very suucessful business man. He is sending me 150 pages of family history. It was truley a blessing to meet him. His daughter is in our ward. Today we bought for our apt in Ferney Voltaire, which we hope to be in by next week because then we will have our own internet. Please pass our love on to anyone interested
Zone conference with Elder Donale L Hallstrom of the 70
Yesterday we had a feast of great talks with Elder Hallstrom and Elder Teixeira of the area 70 for Europe (I think) Elder Hallstrom told how he being raised in Hawaii has met every Prophet since Geroge Albert Smith who he met at 1 year old and had picture taken with him. He helped Spencer W. Kimbell when he came to Hawaii and became his personal assistant. Elder Hallstrom is a tall, large, nordic looking man, much like my father and we remember Pres. Kimbell as being rather short, After Pres. Kimbell left he re read his biography and always felt so close to him and would to anything for him. Later he pondered how much he had grown to love him and wanted to serve him after he had gotten to know him so well. Later he thought, as he studied the Sauvoir, and pondered that he , too should know HIM AS WELL and serve Him, just the way he had been a personal assistant to the Prophet, he, too, should serve the Lord and know Him, So he started studing the New |Testament more and learning more about Jesus Christ. Elder Teixeira and his wife, I adore, She is Portugese and they served togetehr in San Pao, Brazil. She speaks cute English and spoke of marriage, quoting from the Old testiment about Adam and Eve, LEAVE, CLEAVE AND BECOME ONE, She is a painter and she said as she is making some work form her sons wedding, As she had yellow and blue, two beautiful colors, together, combined become green as one, just as beautful. We had enjoyed the spirit and look forward to more spiritual feasts, instead of pain and chocolate.

we have arrived
After traveling for, what felt like 2 days ( we left on a Friday very early and got here on Saturday afternoon) Our temporary home is in Prevessin, a beautiful ville, just inside France about 5 minutes from the Geneva Airport. We will be here until our other place is finished. There is a garden outside our window and the leaves are turning colors. We can see the Jura mts. which are in France and after we step outside we see Mt Blanc, the largest mountain in this area with jagged peaks, magnific. They have given us a cell phone and a car! of course we will need to learn how to use both. We will attend the English speaking Geneva I ward which meets in the Geneva stake building. Our Cfya (center for young adults ) is in downtown Geneva, Right now there are 2 couples doing what we will be doing as soon as we learn the ropes. French, Spanish, German (a little) with alot of people from all over the world. Many Latins come here from both central and south American. The difference in time is 8h for Utah. We will be using francs and euros for money. As we will be traveling each day from France to Switzerland we will need money for both exchanges. Excited, happy beautiful, scairy, lost, language, testimony building , all thoughts that have entered my head

We packed up the Honda with so much stuff we didn't even have room for the salmon we were going to share with the Warnicks in Las Vegas. After staying with Derek and Missy, visitng with Lenny and JO and their new granddaughter, going to soccer games, and last walking to the draper temple where I very seriously sprained my ankle in those <> shoes. we went to help Karina with the grandkids and the arrivals of our 30th grandchild, Peter Mcdonald. After we came we went to General Conference and into the MTC for a week of training in the Preach my Gospel and e days of cheering leading in Centre f Jeune Adults. The foods like everyone says is great and started me off to the eating of all kinds of new things.
One last rip to see the Mercado's before the mission
