best hiking Dawson City in Yukon, not crowded- town really not fixed up that much since gold ruch days when it was the Paris of the North with gambling and can can girls

loved the shows especially visiting with the dancers and finding out their dancing back grounds and they were very talented well trained dancers, ALot of special effects with lights

after that we went to Juneau the state captial and hiked up the water fall

on the hike we got to see St Nikolas Russian chrch

the hike was wonderful--- as our next stop, skagway was crowded , again we hiked, this time along the rail our last cruise time was in GLacier bay national park and college fjord, interesting to learn about glaciers but photos dont do it justice

 

Now we are on lnd for the rest of the 18 days minus a week on the ship

headed to the train to Anchorage , after a 2 1-2vhr train ride we hopped an uber and made it the church to find the ward that our neighbors went to !!  and the spirit was great!

we rented bikes the next day and went along the water near the airport and hiked to get our food as we were now having the do our own food most of the time

terry and Doug used the meal plan that would have cost us $50 oer meal per person

here was our 5 1/2 hour train ride to Denali

LOVING the hiking together, we did Horse shoe trail and each day hiked up from our rooms! 10 miles a few days, 3 days in Denali including a 5 1/2 hr tour around the park. Loved seeing the dog sled training

after Denali we went by bus with our LDS tour guide Ian and stayed along the Chena river which we walked along to get our food. The girl at the front desk noticed my CTR ring, Again a reminder of the world wide church which we love!

we had manty forms of  transportation, curise, train, small plane, river boat, bus, and uber

 part of our Fairbanks travels included ,one day  on a Riverboat tour and saw native living and did a Gold dredge finding $40 worth of gold which we put in earrings.  Jim loved the Alaksa pipeline engineering. Jim has many photos of that!!

Dawson CIty, Paris of the North, turns out to be a favorite, our guide  kept talking abpiut gambling and cancan girls but we hked and dicovered  an old gold mining town still surviving with the best ygurt ever

Dawson city Yukon hotel, reminded me of Denmark. our smaller group was over 30 which was mostly Austrailians, a few Americans. As we were leaving I met a couple from Poland. She did not speak English, He did AND our family history opportunity to share the gospel and our love of FH happened as we stopped along the way to Emeralde lake and Carcross and wild adventure land. This was on our way to Whitehorse Yukon at the Sternwheeler (another river hike ). There we found the Marche ! veagetables and fruit from all around the world and Canadas super costgo with hummus and cottage cheese which exceded America

My parting memory, of hiking  with my sister and sharing our love of  family, the Gospel of Jesu Chirst and missionary. ANd my love of Jim and his adaptable team player. Thiis trip was restorative and more memorable than I have included. Please forgive typos and out of order thoughts. BUT the love of Nature and travel and FAMILY and JIM are strong

 

April Birthday

joyful times when I can share my love with family! here Nattie is using here talents to do VIctoria n my nails! Victoria came over Easter weekend for  WONDERFUL Surprise birthday gift,, HER presence! It was a great time together. WE went thrifting with Megan and Victoria got to be with Michigander college friends later.

most of the month I have beeb studying about ALASKA as we leave soon for our cruise/ train trip

our latest photo of the Lindon temple. This brings me grat joy each week to visit AND  dream about its opening, In the mean time we travel to other temples for our service. THE BIGGEST JOY THIS MONTH; Victoria accepting her call to Mexico to serve a mission and Jake to accept his call to Washington DC North. ( I dont have the exact area and spelling of VIcotria and dont know exactlly were Jakes mission is )

 

March madness

just when I think that things in the home are coming together we discover a leak, UGH!. Lucky for me ,I have super man living with me,He can fix anyrhing. SO thus begins the month long redo of our kitchen floor.

it is also tree triming time and guess who climbs the ladder to trim, at almost 81, your are right JIM.  Here he is with Cade who, I made sure spotted him. We have 4 fruit trees and this needs to happen every year to get a good yield on our trees and keep them healthy.

Heres my part of the home, well, only with the professional eye of Jan. This is preparing for our St Pattys day dinner group just before we started tearing up the kitchen. We had a potatoe bar and got to learn and share our love with our neighbors.

March is Andrews birthday and he picked a great place in Orem where we tasted yummy Japanese cuisine. We are so proud of Andrew and his goal of finishing his studies. We love you so much!

My new job, since finishing ouir BYU Pathway Worldwide in NIgeria is going to the BU FAmily hisorty library and coping videos for the family. here is a little piece from VAleries family home movies

Izaak had a 4th grade presentation just before switching schools. I learned all about Utah history. I just loed being there are sharing time with the youngest of our grandkids

And Kallie wond firest pla oce again in her solo dance compeittion. It is going to be fun to see where her talents take her. SHe is a mature danaer with a great stage presence and I love seeing her skills, fixiblitiy and creativitiy

the Morrison cousins got together ALWAYS great to share our stories from dys of old . The updates of missions for Elaine and grandkids  and comparing our similar genes  strengths. and last our new aging updates.

A little God wink, Again , after many years, coming out of a temple I see Trenna,a student with our first Pathway class in 2017. She has graduated wit her degree in family history and has applied for a great job. We are excited for her and the progress she and all of our students have made in Pathway. We love to see the progress of all of our family and friends as we all help each other  along the way

Here is the view from our bedroom.,it is our loft, this is the library, is now being converted into Jims office, It used to hold my gramdma stuff, teaching stuff, extra stuff, gifts. 

this is one end up in the loft.. These are my parents chairs and a thrifted chest. This will be Jims office as soon as he can downsize his stuff. I have worked so hard going up and down the stairs that I got pantar fascitis in my right ( operated) leg. UGH. But, I have really downsized, more that 50%. This is to help the kids when I pass and help me finish my personal history and help Jim. The big plan is preparing for the future, if we ever need someone to stay in the basement.

we took Lenore to the temple fo her 87th birthday. It was a miracle that it all worked out. SHe had canceled,saying she didnt feel good and the nshe shows up at our driveway just as we were pulling out, We loved our time together and Lenore remembered her father and his service, It was a very special afrternoon.

During this month we are saddened by the passing of our cousin Ralph Morrison. Here are some of the cousins who attended the funeral and supported Dian. 

As a reminder for me to keep cleaning and getting ruid of stuff. We never know when our time will be. We continue to serve in BYU PATHWAY WORLDWIDE Nigeria, with only 2 weeks left. It is a sad but happy time as we have continued to serve since being called right after ending our Phladelphia family history mission in 2016. We look forward to new ways to serve
