FUN in Carbondale, Colorado

Under the care of Val and Jason , we rent a cabin at a Koa in Carbondale Colorado. Not knowing what we were getting into, except that we would be sharing time and love with Val and family and Karina and her 4 younger kids. We went biking everyday on a beautiful trail looking at Crystal River and the high mountains of Colorado.  We went hiking with the kids , where we saw love and kindness as they helped each other. In the evening we roasted marshmallows, had skits, and played spoons. It was beautiful and  clean and fun to have more time with family. I love being with the kids and seeing how their children are progressing, in the gospel and love

More Michigan and Mackinac

these are some photos from my new camera, It took a while for me to find them, but they are the rest of the Michigan Mackinac story. The first one is Erik looking for his family!. Jim and Val standing in front of the finished product,,shed /chateaux.  Me and Val as twinners - never  planned but it happens often. Then there are some biking photos from the Island and fun with the kids. I would love to go again, maybe next time there will be no training wheels!

Michigan-Mackinac Island 2014

I am still figuring out how to post photos from my cell phone, but I do have some from my camera. The first week of this trip was life as usual for me and the grandkids--Library (Val finished first in a hula hoop contest- along with many others --after a LONG time- what 75 minutes?), swimming. biking, church and alot of dancing and singing. Meanwhile Jim, with Val's help built a storage shed or as Jim calls it Le Chateaux. For a long weekend we took the drive to the UP (upper peninsula) to Mackinac Island. We stayed in Mackinac City  and took a ferry to the Island. There are no cars,only horse drawn carriages and alot of bikes. We biked clear around the island and had a blast. It was one of my fav trips --EVER. Why--family. fun, food, alot of biking and swimming and alot o LOVE

Graduation time

This time of year is filled with alot of school activities. I saw dances at Foothill with Mariah and Nattie and Calvin.  Mariah is graduating from Foothill this year and Andrew is graduating but continuing on at UVU to receive his 2 year degree along with everything else. I finally got Smart and Jim and I got the latest, SMART phones, so I dont have photos yet to add to mu blog. as I dont know how to do them down load them yet.
Peter got bit by a tick and is in the hospital with, they think, Lime disease, so I have been spending extra time helping over there,
Jim continues to work on the bathroom, which is looking more and more like it should be finished by,,,,,fathers day?

birthdays and kittens

We have a new kitten, whose name was voted on by the grandkids, Oreo, but I like Velcro because she sticks to me like..well, you get the idea. We have had two birthdays with our cute granddaughters Nattie and Kallie. At Nattie, now 10 years old, we played Mafia and at Kallies, we played at their house with puzzles, animals and balls. Both girls are beautiful and fun in their own ways. Nattie loves bling bling and having a good time. Kallie, now 3, loves to do puzzles with grandma. She also loves Mickey and Cinderella. It has been the greatest blessing for me to get to know these girls. For this reason. living in the snow is alot easier. I am happy that I can share my love with them

Built of the Rock in Remond Washington

There were many youth performing in the musical Built on the Rock. Megan got to dance in the Waters of Mormon scene, The spirit was there and on top of seeing all these youth I got to play with the grandkids, Cade, and Emily and attend a baptism. It was a long but fulfilling 6 days. I returned Mothers Day to Jim working hard at serving her in Orem while I was gone. He is redoing the bathroom and helping Derek make a storage area for his camper

Service with a Smile

This week had the usual- mission work on Monday and Tuesday and serving the grandchildren in anyway that is needed, but on top of all the normal stuff, I was lucky to serve atBYU Women's Conference. I was stationed at the Smith Field House, a building I know. When I started at BYU  we  would go the "pull cards" to get the classes we needed at that buidling. It was also the P.E. department12. My freshman year, at the very first Forum ( We had Forum and Devotional classes that were each Tuesday and Thursday mornings ),  I performed in the Smith Field-house. What dance did I do? I cant remember, there were so many. But, what I do remember, that morning while eating an apple and ironing my costume I fell and cut the side of my eye and had to go on stage with a very large gauze over my face. I still have the scare.
What do I remember of Womens' conference this year? I wont forget the opportunity I had to share my love of BYU and the gospel to a young father and post graduated student from Moscow. I prayed for  MISSIONARY opportunity and even had one that day that I stood all day helping the sisters find their way.
