Most of our energy went into preparing for the conference and going to the conference. We can do more and more with this service mission. Now, it is just making the time. We prepared to post photos and stories to family search. They are still on my key waiting for me to take the time. We like to be available for the family and this time of year means alot of music and celebrations. We heard Mariah play the piano and Blake and Natalie play the violin and the Three Amigos just play!
Most important was attending the temple on Saturday just before Jake was baptized by Derek. In preparing to attend, I fretted about what to wear.It was our first big snow of the season and I wanted to be comfortable and stylish,,until I prayerfully stopped,,a remembered the blessing and honor to attend our grandsons baptism, I felt foolish but grateful that I remembered. The spirit was strong and I am thankful that I listened

2 weeks of travel time
After all the helping and serving the family this summer we needed a break. I went to see Valerie come in first in a 1/2 marathon ( in her age group) and 4th over all! She looked great and hardly missed a beat recovering very quickly. It was conference weekend and we saw all 4 sessions with the grandkids. We enjoyed Sunday sessions with 3 new converts from Puerto Rico and the Philippines. It was so great to share my testimony and inform them of the Family History program and the joys of service.
I returned home for one day which happened to be our senior reunion for the Switzerland Geneva mission. We were reminded that we were the last to serve in that mission as it is now the France Lyon Mission.. we loved being reminded of fond memories
Then we started our trip to CALIFORNIA . We stayed with Terry and Doug in Mariposa and enjoyed a day at the river with Charice and the three kids. The rest of the time we served as missionaries with the Malhums. We even got to go to Zone conference and here Elder Nielsen. So now we are even more excited to serve another full time mission

the rest of the Summer
With my new SMART phone it is harder for me to post photos of our activities. This post includes some of the things we did this summer. After going to Michigan and Carbondale, Colorado we took a few short trips around Utah. We enjoyed our mission at the new location, the Mountain View Institute building , right next to our gym, the Orem Recreation center. So, we would go to serve and work out right after. We enjoy biking on the Murdock Canal, Twice we got up very early to serve at the Timpanogos Temple and the checking the trail and heading north to Alpine.
We wanted to keep August open to help with the new baby at Derek and Missy, but Missy went into Labor on Pioneer Day. Izaak John Anderson was born July 24. 2014, weighing 4plus and 19 inches. He was 7 weeks early and had to stay in the incu for about a month. During that time we helped serve the family by helping with the grandchildren.
The last weekend of the summer we went camping at Timpanokee camp site at the base of the trail to hike to the top of the mountain. Dan and some of the older kids hiked while we played with the younger ones. We closed the summer on Labor Day going out to Utah Lake on our new boat, the Aagot Marie.

More Michigan and Mackinac
pattychatterley@gmail.com
these are some photos from my new camera, It took a while for me to find them, but they are the rest of the Michigan Mackinac story. The first one is Erik looking for his family!. Jim and Val standing in front of the finished product,,shed /chateaux. Me and Val as twinners - never planned but it happens often. Then there are some biking photos from the Island and fun with the kids. I would love to go again, maybe next time there will be no training wheels!

Michigan-Mackinac Island 2014
I am still figuring out how to post photos from my cell phone, but I do have some from my camera. The first week of this trip was life as usual for me and the grandkids--Library (Val finished first in a hula hoop contest- along with many others --after a LONG time- what 75 minutes?), swimming. biking, church and alot of dancing and singing. Meanwhile Jim, with Val's help built a storage shed or as Jim calls it Le Chateaux. For a long weekend we took the drive to the UP (upper peninsula) to Mackinac Island. We stayed in Mackinac City and took a ferry to the Island. There are no cars, only horse drawn carriages and alot of bikes. We biked clear around the island and had a blast. It was one of my fav trips --EVER. Why--family. fun, food, alot of biking and swimming and alot o LOVE
