falling into Autumn activities

One of the similarities that Jim and I have is our history with BYU. We both knew early on in our high schooling that Provo, Utah is where we wanted to go to college. We left our families in Pennsylvania and his in upper state New York and traveled clear across the United States. In the 1960's there were not many opportunities to meet other youth who believed as we did.The education and interaction with other LDS Youth is what helped solidify our strong faith and helped us in forming long lasting meaningful friendships all over the world. EVEN back then, to go to see BYU sports was fun and exciting. Winning was not always part of the adventure, but last Saturday, winning on a beautiful sunning afternoon game, against USC was a big part of out adventure!!

I grew up in a football loving family. I have learned that part of the fun of sporting events is being outside. The social and physical exertion in participating or cheering is also great fun. We enjoyed being together and sharing this game with thousands of other fans.

Another activity we are enjoying is seeing Utah, Here we are hiking up to Timpanogos cave. It had rained a few hours before we left our home. The air and path were clean and fresh.. The beauty of the mountains and sky were impressive

My views when flying back from Michigan, One is of BYU mountain with the Y in  the middle, The second is Mt, Timp,, my mountain, which brought me strength when I attended BYU, The strength I needed to carry on and finish my education, even when times where tough. I continue to remember that feeling of strength when I see these mountains. The friendships and education I received at BYU will always be remembered as necessary stepping stones to my testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We didnt win all our games but we did learn that the process along the way taught us how to be strong, even in tough times.
