struggling with our Musicale continues

Typical with working on a demonstration in the Theater, all the participants should be at repetitions , our great Fiddler ,Caroline, is with Club Med, her work until One week before we show Pres, Bonny at CES graduation all our hard work, needless to say, I am struggling. one word from 8th grade French popped into my brain FERMEZ la bouches, (the teacher told me that each time) It means CLOSE your mouth . So you never know what you might retain from Junior High.!!!

Onex, Switzerland with YSA Pique Nique

Yesterday we had about 40 YSA and missionaries with investigators from all over the world for an activity in Onex Switzerland. It was a beautiful setting and perfect day. As you might be able to tell from the photos we had French, Suisse, Germany, Bulgaria, Italian, USA , Ghana (and those are just Missionaries!) and An Island near Madagascar,, England, Canada, Ireland,Peru, Central America, Nigeria, Mongolian and I probably left someone out! Just amazing good time. One of the sisters from Africa will get baptized soon and we hope all will come. We really needed this diversion as we are struggling to put together our demonstration of
(also known as Fiddler on the Roof-- tiny little parts of it)

comedie musicale=work

We have been working on a demonstration for the graduation from Seminary and Institute. This last practice has kept me up and tossing and turning. I know between Jim and I , we can get this show together, but we have been faced with many problems, mostly to quote Tevya from Fiddler "stranger in a strange land" Language and were to get the stuff we need. So here are some photos of our work in progress.

We visit the Etienne Eglise with its Gothic style and my favorite inside. kind of new and old together. modern artsy town, also great churches. After a great visit we eat in the town square and head south to Ferney Voltaire, France with a wonderful 4 days of memories with the Senior couples and our humanitarian cup over flowing. With renewed energy to teach and preach and serve our YSA. we get back to the business of the Centre and our neighbors.

a short visit with Jan and friend

We were delighted to see Jan Chatterley. We picked them up at the airport and helped them find their hotle in Geneva and after shower and rest went on a walking tour and early dinner. This morning we went to the famous Marche in Fereny Voltaire ,France. With some fruit and nuts they drove to southern France (no that does not mean we went with them). Jan said that our mission is a travel/vacation mission, so I thought I would include one Tender Mercy. Thursday evening, late, 10:30, two lap tops, two large bags of props, one business bag and two purses, we are locked out of our Apt. we knew that they would be installing a security door, but didnt know when (in French, Of course), so there is stood, very tired, and not a ten second later up walks an older lady, never saw her, she let us in. Our little angel. Th next day our neighbor above helped us with the needed info and where to go to get the new security key. Yes, this was a great, timely blessing

senior trip day 3

Day three up in the Alsace area after a great trip and stay in Kaysersberg we went to Colmar. It is a modern town with a medieval area and great churches. It is also the birth place of Auguste Bartholdi, who made the Statue of Liberty and there is a small one there. Seeing it, I cried, The good old USA< gotta love it,even with all its problems!. After we went to Strabourg, the top 3 cities in Europe and center for the European Council. There is a very magnifique Gothic church Notre Dame. It was our favorite church, be sides of course the Bern Temple, which also brought tears to my eyes!. On our way back we stopped in Mulhouse, just because, one of our senior served there. It is a modern/old, great Gothic artsy feel. We have enjoyed the time away and the time together with others serving the Lord.. We even got to do some Missionary work while traveling, by helping others with photos, (you know me) A large group from Brazil, thought they might know Derek! All over the world, we are in a melting pot and we are cookin!

Senior field trip day 2

Our stay in Kaysersberg was just delightful as I mentioned in part 1 but I failed to include photo of the tower which dates 1227, Kaysersberg means Emperors Mountain so it was fortified with towers, yes there will be a quiz after this. So, day 2 started with a visit to a Monkey farm which Jim and I passed on and later used the money to buy magnetic earrings. Then we went to, my favorite Chateau du Haut-koenigsbourg. History- it is first mentioned in 12th century and built on a rock at the junction of an important trading route wheat and wine (N an S) and salt and silver (W an E) so it has been looted and burned rebuilt byEmperor Wilhelm 11 (German) but returned to France in the Tready of Versaille, So it has towers , armorm swords, huntings trophies, builtin heated seat, warriors and princesses too!I If taht wasnt enough in one day, we continue to Riquewihr, a fortified walled in city with cobbled st and houses from 16 nd 17th century made with bright colors like a fairy tale. We had dinner there and wow a hugh pile of sauwer kraut=bacon, ham, pig of all kinds, but VERY GOOD. They are also know for macroons. Then we slept back at Kaysersberg

Mother's Day Thoughts

I went for a walk yesterday and took most of these photos a few minutes from our Apt(Home) This is the first Mother's Day without my MOM, so I think what joys I had as a little child with my mom and now as a Grandmother looking back. So,, alot of photos, first the few from our bedroom with weights and art from the grandkids, walking out the door- the stream and cows , my little Pony in Prevessin, Ducks and rooster behind us , and my ever working husband. Love and Happiness to you all this day.

Holy Cow

We can hear the cow bells from our apt. and I love it. First there were older ones, now we can see mommas with babies, and today we saw ones one tiny fence away from Buffalo Grill, scairy!. But, these cow look happy and they come to me when I call them. They are very friendly and I think they are by-lingual
