Senior field trip day 2

Our stay in Kaysersberg was just delightful as I mentioned in part 1 but I failed to include photo of the tower which dates 1227, Kaysersberg means Emperors Mountain so it was fortified with towers, yes there will be a quiz after this. So, day 2 started with a visit to a Monkey farm which Jim and I passed on and later used the money to buy magnetic earrings. Then we went to, my favorite Chateau du Haut-koenigsbourg. History- it is first mentioned in 12th century and built on a rock at the junction of an important trading route wheat and wine (N an S) and salt and silver (W an E) so it has been looted and burned rebuilt byEmperor Wilhelm 11 (German) but returned to France in the Tready of Versaille, So it has towers , armorm swords, huntings trophies, builtin heated seat, warriors and princesses too!I If taht wasnt enough in one day, we continue to Riquewihr, a fortified walled in city with cobbled st and houses from 16 nd 17th century made with bright colors like a fairy tale. We had dinner there and wow a hugh pile of sauwer kraut=bacon, ham, pig of all kinds, but VERY GOOD. They are also know for macroons. Then we slept back at Kaysersberg
